Question I need your opinions on changing my GPU ?

Hello all.

My current rig specs is in my sig.

I am building me an AMD rig.

7800x3d
7800xt
gigabyte x670e pro x
850 corsair psu
trident 6400 32gb

I am currently in love with my xfx merc 6950xt in my current rig.

I have noticed in vids and article benchmarks the 6950 beats out the 7800xt. Not by a whole lot but enough.

I also know the 7800xt is amds newest technology which include rdna 3.

In your opinion.... would you put the 6950xt or the 7800xt in this new rig?

I really like the words lighting up on the 6950xt. lol

If you are purely after maximum gaming performance, you should go with the 6950XT. AMD's 7000 Series cards have some nice features like better Ray Tracing support and AMD's AV1 or HEVC encoders, but if you don't use software that takes advantage of those features, you won't be missing out on much.

I cannot find any 6950XT's for less than 800 dollars, which is about on par with the 7900XT, but if you found a price to match the 7800XT's 500 dollar mark, then that would be a good choice.

I paid 600 for my merc 319 6950xt last year.

I just bought the pure white 7800xt for 500 ( my rig will be all white).

I am leaning towards installing my 6950xt.
