I have this:
http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-syncmaster-172v-lcd-monitor-17-series/specs/
And I know I need a better panel and when I have money I'll get one. My monitor only has HMDI, I don't know what that monitor takes. I guess it might be VGA, so would I need a HDMI to VGA cable?
Sorry this must seem really nooby.

Sorry I misspoke, I meant my PC only has HDMI not my monitor. I think you guys knew what I meant though :')

Thanks for the help, I'm using integrated graphics and the only video out on my motherboard is HDMI. Hope to move to the world of discreet graphics in the not too distant future.
