Hey all,

I swapped out my laptop 700mah (roughly, its a 8 year old laptop) 18650 with some 2400's, but i'm not sure the laptop has "noticed" ?

The original battery pack brand new was supposedly 48Wh with 6 cells, but the new pack should now be 53Wh, 24003.76, but when i run battery report it doesn't match up:

Will the built in BMS only allow it to charge to 38Wh?

You should've invested in a genuine part for your laptop as opposed to running a battery with a higher cell count.

Something like these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/PowerforLaptops-Replacement-battery-Toshiba-SATELLITE/dp/B017BH2ROQ

If the battery drops into your laptop without any hiccups and you've matched the power output(voltages on the batteries) side by side, you should be fine but I tend to stick to specs that you find on OEM batteries and then source a replacement as opposed to going for higher cell count battery unless it's a genuine part.

Hmm. Well i thought that going 10% over original battery level would give wear redundancy, but it now seems to have just charged to only 70% and cannot juice up past the original capacity.

Yes i checked voltages and capacities, there is no extra cells in the remade pack, i simply used the original casing and switched them out.

So am i stuck with this 70% charge forever or is there a workaround?
