I reset my acer aspire v5-122p-0408 and now when i turn it on it shows the acer explore beyond screen but them goes shows a blue box that says Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed.....Then says insert recovery media and hit any key. If I download windows 8 on a flash drive how do i get the computer to recognize and use it?

The easiest way is do the following:
1) Restart the PC and at boot press and hold 'Shift+F8' to bring the Recovery mode (you can do this with a boot Win-8 disk and/or a USB stick with Win-8 OP boot on it also.
2) Once it shows 'Choose an options' click on 'Troubleshoot'
3) Use 'Refresh your PC' and see if that recovers your startup boot files
