Well I guess in the end we are running around the same conclusion, that we are just speculating. I woudl say this. I dont think mainstream users will need 64bit for soem time, and I dont think even if itnel added it,t aht all of a sudden the public would want it. I would like to have 64bit, but most ppl dont care or even know what it is, its just a another gimic for the mainstream. I do think if we see more inraods made at gateway (emachines), hp, and ibm, that youll see more popularity. The marketing is there, all they have to do is make some orders for ahtlon 64 chips and you got the perfect slogan to use. Athlon 64 chips are the best gaming chip and can be marketed as such. I wish the companies owuld get more traction on this, and who knows, they maybe working towards that. Dell will never be sell amd, and frankly I dont care, its their loss not to try it out. As far as the rambus vs ddr event, I dont think it was just amd's 'dumb luck' , im sure they were smart enough to look at rambus and ddr and they chose what they thought would succeed. Its not like they are children being led around by the intel mother lol. Now I dont think this will hurt intel for long, they have other problems to iron out, they will be back into competition. I just didnt like the notion of making a statement that amd64 will suck becuase of preliminary numbers and becuase intel isnt all nuts about pushing it, evne if they are adopting 64bit using amd's code and modifiing it to differentiate.
