Ok here are the parts I think I have narrowed it down to for my new Athlon system. Any comments on compatability or setup bewares would be appreciated.

TBird 900
Abit KT7 Raid
Micron PC133 128MB
Inwin Full tower w/Powerman 300W PS
2 88mm aux case fans
Asus V7700 GeForce2 GTS Pure 32MB
15GB Maxtor ATA100 (gonna pick up 2 IBMs later on)
AOC 17" .25dpi Monitor (gonna get a nice monitor later)

One question I do have is the fan that comes with the Tbird Retail box. Is there a heatsink as well or just a fan? Can anyone direct me to a decent Heatsink if there isnt. I plan on OCn the 900 later on down the line so i dont want to have to replace the heatsink and fan then.

Thnx

Looks good to me. A heat sink should be included with the fan. Remember to not jump to any conclusions if you run into problems. I had a bad stick of memory that just about drove me nuts. I got the Radeon 32mb ddr board. My best bud has an ASUS and my bro in law has Nvidia. I think they are both less life-like than the Radeon. Other than that, bought the Aopen H08 tower case with (2) fans and the 300watt supply. Love it! You will have a ball when you light it up. Good luck!

if you don't do multimedia processing, RAID won't show its benefits. then i recommend MSI K7T-Pro2/-Pro2A. MSI makes the best Kt133 mobos, good performance and extremely stable.

K7T-Pro doesn't support "unlocking"; -Pro2 does; -Pro2A does, too, and features the new 686B southbridge with decent built-in ATA100 support.

Heatsink Fan: i recommend TaiSol. the Orb style has become kinda "cliche", not cool and fresh any more. TaiSol is in the pretty classic style and i love it.

get a 30GB ATA100 HDD. it has the best price/performance ratio. 15GB doesn't mean half the price of a 30GB one.

AOC monitor isn't very good. it's not worth buying a new one.
