"Hey, @damric, That tweak you were talking about and issues. I might need help with that man, I have same GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 MB and FX8370 and I have 16GB of AMD 1866 RAM

See my PC runs fine for a while then I enter a game or doing a lot of opening and closing web pages for work and it stalls the whole system it seems.
Be awesome to get some help. Thanks!"

I said this in reply to:
"Your RAM is compatible. It should not be a problem at all. The FX CPUs only start to struggle when you get 16GB with higher frequency like 1866+. 4x4GB @1600 should be easy enough. Let me know if it gives you a problem and I'll help you tweak it.."

My system is:
AMD FX-8370 8 core 4.00 GHz
16GB of AMD RAM
64-bit system
700+ GB of SSD
GPU is R 290x 4 GB
Win 8.1

Don't know what else to tell you about my system. My friend said there might be something wrong with my RAM then I came across a post on here today that @damric replied to and thought maybe that is my issue.

Solution
I run 1866mhz 8-9-9-24 ram in an AMD system. I know my ASUS board has something called D.O.C.P its pretty much like intels XMP, it sets the timing, speed, voltages, etc for me by just clicking a button. If your board doesn't have a feature like this then you should manually set the RAM BIOS settings to the exact specs of ram if you haven't already.

And is your ram on the motherbaords compatibility list? If it isn't that ram may just not play well with your motherboard.

I guessed it was 1866 but i was wrong here is the specs i found from the site, see I won my PC from Raptr and CyberPowerPC and I have no support :/

Gaming PC built by CyberPowerPC
* CPU: AMD FX 8370
* GPU: AMD Radeon 290X
* MoBo: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5
* SSD: AMD Radeon 700GB
* Memory: AMD Radeon 1600mhz memory
* PSU: XFX ProSeries

Oki, you can try going into your BIOS, I think it's 'advanced options' and you should find an option 'DRAM E.O.C.P', set it to enabled and choose the AMP profile if available, if not, set 'DRAM E.O.C.P' back to disabled, save by hitting F10, download CPU-Z and take a screenshot of the Memory and SPD tabs.

Really nice PC to win by the way!

Thanks, was doing a good cause and was blessed with it I feel. I will try to do what you said.

Ok I was not able to get into my BIOS for some reason and I tried what I saw on a video and its like the PC would never load up the BIOS and I had to restart
I have the pictures you requested

So if you don't think it is the memory, what else could it be that causes my system to stall at high use times? I mean the most times it stalls is when I close a game or a program and it stalls the whole system. I then reboot and it runs fine.

Also the memtest86x+ you said to try. What one should i get, there is so many links that I have no clue what to DL, sorry.

What do you mean by stall? A complete lock-up, random reboots, random slowdowns? and how long has this been happening forever or was it something that just started randomly?

I would still give your memory a couple of passes with memtest86+ just to completely rule it out.

Ok like I would load or turn off game and it would shut down everything, and the mouse and keyboard would stay on for a while but things like my controller would shut off like it was shut off but the thing it , it never shuts off, I have to flip switch in the back to power it off then turn it back on with the power button, it been going on for the last 4 months but even worse now then ever. Stall I mean like a engine would stall and not start up, or turn off on its own
