When playing games, my GPU never goes past 80% usage, yet my CPU is always at 100% usage. I have it oc'd to 4.2 ghz, but the temps on my CPU are always fine. I am using a hyper evo cooler, so I thought this would be fine. Any idea what is going on?
well i played alot of bf3 on max settings and I use to check my resources being used, the result was always shocking cuz the cpu usage used to be 80-90% while the gpu usage was only 70%. In my guess battlefield is a cpu intensive game it uses all the 4 physical cores and not much of the gpu. I never faced any issue of fps drop or crashing
How is the ram usage?
I think its probably a ram problem, not CPU, but can't say yet
The RAM usage never reaches 100% yet either. At most it reaches %50 when battlefield 4 is playing. This started happening once I upgraded to Windows 8.1, which I did without a clean install, and I did it over a developer build of Windows 8.1 (before I had actually bought 8.1). Do you think a clean install would do anything?

what games are you playing and ya more than likely your cpu is botttlenecking you gpu. I say this because its completely maxed out when you gpu is not yet at 90. I dont thin its the ram unles you have below 4. Or it might be that youre playing very cpu intensive games that put a very heavy stress on your cpu and not your gpu
cache is used to reduce access to memory. it uses an algorithm to predict what data it will need most. if it is not storing the correct data it will cause problems. i had that issue once. as far as how to fix it Im sry but i dont know enough to direct you confidently.
