Hi, I installed DDR3 ram 8Gb 1.5V (Crucial) model: CT102464BA160B , my pc doesn't boot. However, the cpu fan keep running and no picture on the display. I made sure the ram is inserted correctly in the slot, cleared CMOS, Updated bios, tried to place the ram in different slots, i tried the ram alone.... Nothing helped. I know it didn't reach the capacity limit because I had 8GB ram before and worked fine. I also took the ram to another pc I have, same thing happened, pc doesn't boot.

My pc is Dell optiplex 20 SFF, windows 10, bios updated to the latest version

Is the ram faulty? Is it because 1.5V?

or is there anything I can do to fix it? please help thank you!

Sure thank you.

Dell optiplex 3020 Small factor form (SFF)
Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz
SSD samsung evo 500GB
GPU: low profile 1030GTX GDDR5

PSU 255 W
RAM: manual says memory type is DDR3 SDRAM
I currently have 8GB ram (4GB x 2)
Manual says maximum ram is 16GB ram, 8Gb in each slot.
I tried ADATA ram 8GB ram instead of 4GB in one of the slots and worked fine. When I try the crucial 8GB instead of the ADATA, pc doesn't boot.
*The crucial ram: model number that didn't work is CT102464BA160B
(Crucial 8GB Single DDR3 1600 MT/s PC3-12800 CL11 Unbuffered UDIMM 240-Pin. 1.5V
*The adata ram model number that worked: also 8GB SDRAM DDR3 1600mhz 240pin.

I tried this ram in 2 different pc with different specs and the same thing happened.
