Asus m5a78l-m lx3 is the motherboard with phenom cpu.
I bought new PSU and used old ram. Them I put my old HDD in the build but when it's booting it shows that it is plugged in the monitor. It shows the resolution and that it's connected by VGA.
But there is black screen without cursor or anything.

Is it because I don't have any graphics card or is it because there is problem with the old HDD.

The HDD had perfectly fine running windows 10 with games internet etc.

I didn't format it or anything

Can you get into the Bios and see video?

If so then see if you can boot into safe mode.

I'm moving this treads to our SYSTEMS category since this is not an issue with the storage (HDD).
Actually you can't. You can only select the boot drive you want to boot from.

I will try reinstalling windows and let you know if it worked.
