[SOLVED] i used to have my cpu clock reduced 800 mhz but not happening anymore

hi, my cpu - 4670k mobo- gigabyte z87x-ud3h . i remember sometime ago i used to have my cpu clock reduced 800 mhz and voltage reduce to less than .500v , but now even i'm using c1e and eist still my cpu clock always at max never decreases even when it's idle . plz help me out here.

Are you running a high performance power scheme in Windows as it can set CPU to 100% speed all the time.

If so, try balanced as then CPU speed should vary based on usage.

I have a similar CPU, I had a similar problem. Samsung SSD software used to have ability to add power schemes and one it had set CPU to max speed all the time. 4ghz all the time isn't needed in summer
