What model of PSU do you have installed? To test possible power outlet issues(almost certainly not the issue), move the computer to an outlet that you know works(like one that was powering the TV you were recently watching).
3d games tax your GPU, the GPU responds to those spikes by demanding power from your PSU. Your PSU is almost certainly the cause of this problem. Tell us the model and we'll go from there.
