Solution
for motherboard amd and intel make a few chipsets for each level of pc. amd chipset are the 990 for top of the line gaming..980 for home pc and work pc and the lower 970/960 for entry level pc and work pc. on intel side they have b/h/z in there chipset numbers. the b is entry level chipset..h in no frills gaming pc for home uses and z is there gaming chipset. most times whe nyou go to lower end chipset you have less ram slots or video slots or sata ports when you read the motherboard info. intel h chipset is a locked chipset if you put a k cpu in it you cant overclock. most h mb are mini atx that have one or two video slots and 2\4 ram slots. 4-6 satas ports. most z mb are full size mb with 4 ram slots max ram of 32g. also over clock...
the i5 for the money is the sweet spot of intel cpu for gaming systems. if your in the us and near a micro center they have the 4690k for 199 and the 4590 for 160.00 they also have isntant combo deals on there mb. with the 4690k the asus ar mb is 119.00. to go under that you have to use a h97 asrock mb that are 60-70.
micro center also has the r100 case onsale for 37.00. for 600.00 your going to be looking at a standard 1tb hard drive (42.00) cd-rom dvd 15-19. 8g ram kits onsale are 49.00 now. look on parts picker for a good 600-650w unit. look online at the r280 prices and the r300. i seen the 2g r300 for 199.00 on parts picker.
there are 3g r280 for 151.00 on parts picker.

Little bit over budget, but it will have great performance.

UPDATE: People choose i5 over the i7 because in gaming you see very little performance increase between the two. i7 Processors are mainly used for video editing processes or programs that use multiple threads.

No difference between a standard hard drive, unless you want an SSD (you don't). My post has links to all the websites you need to buy parts and you should get anywhere from 70-80 fps in most titles on Ultra.
