Question I want to control two computers with one mouse and one keyboard

I have two computers. One has a single monitor and the other has two. I want to be able to switch between both using a single mouse and keyboard. I can't install software on these comps so it would be an external switcher. Any help is greatly appreciated.

which is something like USB hub, but with two USB connectors where you connect both PCs with it, then you just switch between PCs with a button, this one has also external power supply in case you need to power up something power hungry through USB

I would say something like a KVM switch, but not sure it will deal with the 2X monitors on the one machine. The switch recommended by @kerberos_20 seems to be an elegant solution.

Yeah, my own suggestion was going to be along the lines of asking if one or both of the PC were on a Pro OS, and then you can use RDC. Even at that there are certain limitations of the things you can do that way.

Dual monitor KVM's do exist. The good ones aint cheap though.

OP says one of the computers is single-monitor only, so second monitor might remain plugged in directly into the other PC.

No need for 3 monitors in this situation. Connect the single monitor station to only one of the 2 inputs on the KVM. Left or right at the user's discretion.

USB switch for M&K.

Plug monitor(s) into whatever PC(s) you want to see stuff on. You can have multiple PCs connected to a given monitor (cable from each PC to each monitor). Just select the input option on the monitor to see whatever PC you want.

KVM switches are horribly antiquated and/or grossly overpriced.
