I want to downgrade my Nintendo DSi to 1.4.4.

Solution
well, you have two options then. Find an R4 cart that works on 1.4.5 or do the downgrade process.
The downgrade process is not the best, and if you don't follow the guide to the letter you risk bricking your DSi.

The official guide can't be found through the regular website anymore, the site is down and has been for a little while.

So you can get the guide by using the wayback machine to view a snapshot of it from when it was still live.

As for getting the files, you can right click the links and select to open in a new tab. Once in a new tab, you can go up to the address bar and remove all the junk before the https of the link so that you remove all the stuff related to the wayback machine and get a proper direct link.

there are some methods... unfortunately, they aren't very safe. High risk of bricking if you don't follow the guides exactly.
Aside from a hardmod, you need access to specific eshop games. best option is to have an R4 cart.

Why exactly are you looking to downgrade the DSI?

Knowing what your intentions for the console are can help me understand what direction I should point you in.

The reason that i want to downgrade it its because that i have an r4 3ds card and its not compatilable with 1.4.5 or something. I dont know what to do. When i run it, it gets in a black screen saying "An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details". What should i do?

Most of the stuff can be found on the DSiGuide GitHub. A couple of things are gotten through the links.

Here is the guide:

as long as you follow the guide to the letter you should have no issue.
However, I can not guarantee 100% that nothing will go wrong.

It's up to you if you want to go through with it.
Alternatively, you could always look around the used market for another DSi that is still on the older firmware or even get a cheap original 3DS which can then be hacked on the latest firmware using a few different methods.

I personally have a DS Lite and an original 3DS and an R4 cart that I used my DS Lite to switch the cart into a different mode that allowed me to use it to hack my 3DS and I just use my 3DS for homebrew and ROM backups of all my games on an SD card and I use the R4 cart to play all my backups of my DS and DSi games.
