i want to know some info about this cpu & ram (is it compatible)

(1). i just bought a motherboard GA-B250M Gaming 3 and i was thinking to buy a Intel Core i5-8400 Processor but i notice that the. ga-b250m Gaming 3 doesn't support 8th Generation
so I do not have a solution but to buy a core i5 7400 or 7500> and is there a big difference between 7400 and 7500 and there too 7400 Kaby Lake (Quad-Core) Really I'm confused ??

(2) Suppose I bought a intel core i5 7400 can i overclock the cpu i know the motherboard doesn't support (-k series) and the cpu. but the question here? i searched into the intel website and i notice this word (Max Turbo Frequency 3.50 GHz) i dont get it I hope clarification

(3) I wanted to know how i know the RAM compatible with the cpu without bottleneck ( the ram i will buy it CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 Memory Kit Model (OR) G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4

1. Not much of a difference but I'd get the 7500 for the higher clock speed if budget allowed.

2. You can't overclock it but 1-2 cores on the CPU will speed up to that turbo speed when that extra performance is needed.

3. A 2x4 or 2x8gb DDR4 kit should work fine but if you don't want to chance compatibility you can check the motherboard memory QVL as it will lists kits that were tested with it.

If you can give us a budget and your uses for the system we can help you pick out the exact parts.

Id return the board personally if possible & buy an i3 8100 or a ryzen.

Makea no sense buying a skylake/kaby lake this late in the day imo.

Although the 7400 & 7500 are similar they are well behind the 8400 which is closer to a 7700, you are taking a significant step down. I agree with the above, return the motherboard if you can.

i5-8400 performance equivalent in older gen CPUs would be i7-6700 or i7-7700 (non K) - you can find them for about 200$.
In intel world - you can ONLY overclock K CPUs on Z motherboards.
on B250 can only run 2400MHz memory. so the one with lower timings is better. note that XMP profiles will work only with 7th gen CPU on this motherboard.

6.i built this pc for gaming and rendering. adobe premiere . and other

all i need Cpu, Ram, Cooler, i think that's it :} did i missing something

As stated above return the B250 and looking at your budget I'd actually suggest the Ryzen 5 2400G, B350 Motherboard & whatever you can afford for DDR4 RAM. This 2400G is a quad core with 8 threads which should help out tremendously with any rendering or multitasking.

(1) can you please explain more .. i don't understand really what is the difference between coffee lake skylake/kaby lake?

(2) really quick question.. On an example . i bought the i3 8100 like you say. is it Compatible
with this motherboard Kaby Lake .
