Its not a laptop... i just want it to be more quiet idk how.... from 50 to what ?If it's a laptop i wouldn't, if you watch the temps you can change the 50 to a lower number, but if you think that 2400 is loud then you're not going to cope outside of Bios.
U mean maximim duty cycle at 50?If it's a laptop i wouldn't, if you watch the temps you can change the 50 to a lower number, but if you think that 2400 is loud then you're not going to cope outside of Bios.
So if i put maximum duty cycle to 40 it will run quiter?at 50 the fan will run at 50% of it's max speed. So 40 is 40%.
You probably need a better cooler.
Nothing happens the fan runs at same speed and is still same loudat 50 the fan will run at 50% of it's max speed. So 40 is 40%.
You probably need a better cooler.
How do i know if its a 3 or 4 pin? What pin fan is on the cpu_fan header? If it's 3pin, change the control mode to DC or voltage, if it's a 4 pin fan, change control mode to pwm.
With 3 pin fans, mimimum duty cycle ranges from either 40% or 60% to 100%, with most pwm fans it's 20% to 100%. Setting duty cycles below minimum won't affect speeds, but may shut the fan off completely as it doesn't have the power necessary to start spinning.
Processor is i5 2400 correct... i will buy a new fan thenif it's spinning at 2400 in bios then it's probably a small box cooler that's very ineffective and loud. My 120mm fans on my cooler will only go up to 1200rpm, and are normally at 450-600. A better cooler will be cooler and quieter and needn't be expensive.
