Hi, I want to sell my pc and buy a new one.I run a business so its important to me that there is no way possible for anyone to recover any details on my PC as it has all my business banking information etc... Im not very good with computers but is it possible for me to take out the SDD and HDD and put new ones in and then sell it that way? Someone said I have to install windows again, What does that mean?

Many thanks

With all new drives, the PC will have NONE of your data/info on it.

And you only need to put one drive in it. Doesn't necessarily need both SSD and HDD.
Install Windows again? Not necessarily.

What are the specs of this system?
All parts please, make/model.
Hi thanks for replying so fast, Heres my info:

I just went on a website that scans my PC to tell me what the specs are and this is what it said:

Is this what you need?

ProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz
Video CardNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
Operating SystemWindows 11
RAM16 GB

Ideally, we'd need the make/model of all of it. That can have a major effect on price.
RAM, power supply, motherboard, etc, etc.

In what way is this one not meeting your needs?

This?
https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Document/User Manual/User Manual_Acer_1.0_A_A.pdf?acerid=636985085702032413&Step1=DESKTOP&Step2=PREDATOR&Step3=PREDATOR PO5-600S&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6

So...
NVMe SSD, M.2 format
Regular 3.5" HDD

I would just put in a single 500GB NVMe SSD.
Doesn't really need the HDD.

Depending on how much you wish to spend, a Samsung 970 EVO.
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-MZ-V7S1T0B/dp/B07M7Q21N7
$82.
Im amazed at how fast you found all this information!! Your incredible dude thank you. So by the looks of it, I can unplug the old SSD and simply insert a new one and then all information on my PC will be wiped? ( which is what I want, I've backed up everything important on USB to go into the new computer ) . So i don't need to install windows or anything like that?

Yeah it doesn't need to be anything special the new SSD just as long as my information is gone I'm happy and I can sell it with piece of mind then :) I originally bought this PC as a gaming PC and then used it for work instead whereas now I'm thinking of getting a laptop instead as I'm moving around for work to much.

Many thanks

The PC contains no "info".
The new, blank, drive you put in to sell contains no info at all.

You can take the drives that came out, and put in your new PC.
That will require a fresh Windows install in the new system.

What are your plans for the Windows license?
You may be able to transfer the license from the old system to the new. Maybe, probably.

But you do need to remove that old system from your MS account.
See here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...nt-selling-gifting-windows-10-device-xbox-one

Then, the new owner of the old system will have to figure out his own OS and licensing.

Then, in your NEW system, you'll have to do your own OS install.

Nooooo....

"£5.89 GBP" for WIn 10 Pro is an absolutely bogus license.
That is like finding a 75" Sony 4k TV for $50. You'd run away laughing, knowing it was bogus.

You need to determine if your current OS license is tied to your MS account.
If so, you can apply that license to your new PC, for free.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

Assuming it is, you download the Win 10 install stuff direct from Microsoft, for free.
The install costs $0.
The license is what costs actual money.
And is usually transferable.

Read through that link to see how to create your own Win 10 install.

Well then....

Was your old system a prebuilt, with included OS license? (Win 11?)
If so, include that license in the purchase price. Bump the sale price by £50 or so.

Do a clean install of Win 11, stopping before you get to the account information.
The new owner will continue that install, with his details.

For your new system, purchase you own valid Win 10 or 11 OS license.
(key word - valid)
Win 10 Home is around $100, Pro around $130.
