Hello everyone, I currently don't know where to go, I want to upgrade my PC the spec is

Gigabyte b450m gaming
R3 3100
16GB 3200mhz ddr4 8x2
GTX 1650
be quiet! System Power 10u 550w (2 months old)
1080p user

The upgrade is:

R5 5600
RTX 4060 8GB or 3060 12GB

I don't really care about gaming, as long as it playable (60fps) I'm fine with it, I use it mostly for productivity stuff like Editing, 3D, and Rendering (Adobe Family, DaVinci, Blender, Unreal Engine and SketchUp)

I heard that VRAM is the problem here even though 4060 is leading in terms of performance, but this problem is what holding me from buying it. The price difference in Indonesia is 3060 250$ and 4060 is 290$.

Nvidia is preferred because Im not into gaming that much, heard that Nvidia is better in my case, but im open if you have recommendations. Don't know about Intel GPU.

Thanks!

How old is the PSU in your build? You should include a reliably built, higher wattage PSU as well, when upgrading your build.

in my country
Which is where?

What sort of apps do you use for said productivity tasks? Do you have access to Intel or AMD discrete GPU's?

Go with 3060 because it'll run at pcie 16x vs 8x for the 4060 being an 8x card and motherboard only supporting pcie 3. For productivity situations loading lots of vram data you'd be better off with 16x bandwidth. If 4060 was running at pcie 4 speeds then 8x would be equivalent to pcie 3 16x but it won't be running at pcie 4, it'll be running at pcie 3 8x.

Hi! Thanks for the reply, I just updated it for better information, also I heard that Nvidia is better in my case right? I'm open if you have recommendations.

VRAM is not a problem. There is literally no evidence of it ever being a problem it’s just something for people to main about. If you were playing at 4K there might be an issue but considering you’d be sub 20 regardless of VRAM it’s not really the limiting factor.
