i want to upgrade GPU for my Dell Optiplex 3010. need help badly

Hi guys, I have a Dell Optiplex 3010 Small Form Factor
Core i5-3470
Curently using a Geforce GT 220 GPU
250w PSU (OEM)

i want to upgrade Video card / GPU because im playing Counter Strike Global Offensive so i can get higher FPS. what is the best video card i can put with this PSU? any suggestion? thanks alot in advance

I would suggest a gtx 750 as it will be fine with ur psu also . If u have a bit more cash go for gtx 950 as that's also solid

You need to change the PSU to begin with. It can't handle anything more than that. Even a low power 750ti would bee too much for it.

Open up the case and take a picture of the PSU sticker and show it to us, it will help us judge if there is a PSU upgrade needed to run the 750ti.

thank you for quick reply, i appreciate it. are you sure that my 250w psu can handle gtx 750 and gtx 950? some are saying i need to upgrade PSU but some are saying its ok.

I would suggest getting a new case with a new PSU. The motherboard in the dell 3010 is a standard ATX motherboard (matx to be precise) so it can fit in a new case.

250W will run fine on a GTX 750. I have a HP Compaq 6200 Slim Desktop on a 240W PSU which was running with a GTX 750 even with room with overclocking abit. Because it's a slim form factor however in my case, a Low Profile Graphics Card was all that it could fit in.

It is the best, but it will be a risk running it on 250W oem psu. OEM psus are pretty low quality so you risk getting BSODs.

The GT 220 has a TDP of 53 watts, while the 750ti has a TDP of 60 watts,

In my eyes it is not safe. The gtx 750ti will run but would not call it safe.

17 Amps on the 12v is enough to add a 750ti in, which is a bit more power efficient than a 750.

Both the 750ti and the 750 will work, as long as you pick a card with low profile brackets available (Sadly it seems that only the 750ti has low profile cards available)

The card will not fit in your case due to it being taller than what your case spec allows, you'll have to go for a low profile card like this which comes with a smaller bracket so it can fit.

this is my set up as of now lol. i opened the case because the gt 220 ddr2 is not fit.

The 750ti will likely fit as it's a short card and will come with a bracket so you can close your case.

I'd go to the webpage f the card and check it's length specifications to be sure though, make sure you have measuring tape or a ruler handy.
