Question I want to use an older soundcard on a new motherboard ?

So i have an old Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer soundcard that works on PCI 2.0 but it doesn't fit on my new motherboard.

Is there any adapter, or do I need to buy a completely new soundcard, because the on-board Realtek Audio is not that good on my Asus Z790 motherboard.

For the price of an adapter and the extra complication running an ancient PCI device find a new PCIe card or external DAC.

There is a couple of options from PCI exapnsion chassis to PCIe x1 to PCI slot adaptors.

It will be the junk Windows Os that will try not to make it work well. I don't support the Windows operating system anymore.
