i wanted to change the tip of hp charger from 3 pin to 2 pin so as to charge my Toshiba laptop, when i first tried this it charger worked fine but the next time i tried this it stopped working can any one pls help

You'll need to just buy a new one.
There's no point trying to troubleshoot a failing laptop power supply.

They are different for a good reason most likely there are different requirements for different laptops some require different wattages and some even charge at different voltages
