[SOLVED] I was wondering if this is a solid first gaming PC?

I was wondering if this is a solid first build.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tZbmvn

On top of the build I bought a commander pro and the lighting node pro for fan control and extra rgb. I also plan on buying another set of 16gb of RAM, and upgrading to 6 ll120 from corsair in the near future. The 500gb m.2 drive is going to be my boot drive only (nothing else at all). Would this be overkill for a boot drive? The 1tb SSD will be for games and everything else. Any ideas on if this is would have trouble running Rust, Fortnite, and OverWatch?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I already bought Home though. Is there anyway I can upgrade to Pro without returning Home altogether?

Windows 10 Home can support up to 128gb of RAM, most people won't come even close to that, even professional video editors are only using around 32-64gb. Besides the difference that Pro can use up to 512gb there's no difference and doesn't justify the extra cost.

As for the build this is what I'd get, saves some money and allows for more storage and a better GPU. Not sure what resolution your going to be gaming at but at higher resolutions such as 1440P or 4K the difference between the 2700X & 8700K lessons drastically.

True but pro offers more benefits then home such as.
- Group Policy editor to customize and optimize your install
- Hyper-V for using virtual machines to minimize the risk of viruses when dealing with unknown software. Put some AV software in a virtual machine and safely check files for infection with 0 risk to your system.
- Remote Desktop so you can access your computer from elsewhere if necessary (helpful if you are at a friend's house and want to set up your computer as a server for a bit.)
- Bitlocker, protects your files a bit more than nothing
- More control over updates. Especially useful for improving system stability.
also if your spending that much on a system you want it to be the best it can be simple

There is a few more benefits but performance wise there's no difference between Pro & Home, you can set your active time in both so updates will be delayed until your not using the system or it's idle. Plus you can't return Windows to most places so the OP would be out at least $100 if they bought it through it valid retailer.

Would my build be better if I upgraded to a Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2080 ti Xtreme in the near future. This was also part of my plan.

Wrong, flat out wrong. You can game on home or pro. You only need Pro if you need the extra networking features or to run the language packs, but that's the only discernable difference. You can run VMs and remote desktop on Windows 10 home (I've done it). There is no need to spend the extra money for Pro if you do not need those features. Windows 10 Home also has no RAM limit either, that was dropped in Windows 10 from the beginning, but recent updates have erased the RAM ceiling that Windows 7 and 8 had.

If I started with the RTX 2070 that I had picked, would the RTX 2080 ti be a big jump from that in gaming performance?

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2080-vs-Nvidia-RTX-2080-Ti/4026vs4027
check this out for comparison between the 2 and im not saying he should buy home over pro but if it was me and i was spending that much money on a system i would go with pro simple its up to him at the end of the day he already has home so stick with home.

We really need to know what resolution your gaming at. For the RTX series I'd probably go 2070 @1080P/1440P, 2080 @1440P/3440x1440P and 2080 ti @4K/3440x1440P.

Also what do you think about my storage set up?
500GB Samsung 970 EVO m.2 for a boot drive only (nothing else at all)
1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD for steam library, epic games, blizzard, and everything else.
