I have an option of 2k 164hz and other one is 4k60hz on which should i go as idk what will be good for rtx 4080 or 4090.
Oh okay what if its 60hzIf you are buying a RTX 4080 or 4090, 4K 144 Hz is the way to go.
You will not be able to fully utilise the gpu. 1440p 144Hz or 4K 60Hz would be better suited to say a 3080 or 3090. Really you should be looking at 1440p 240Hz or 4K 120Hz or higher. Otherwise the gpu will be creating frames you cannot use. The 4080 and 4090 are extremely powerful, you really want an equally high end monitor to benefit from that performance.Oh okay what if its 60hz
If you are into gaming, 60 Hz gaming let me say not enjoyable & you will not be using your GPU fully. for 60 Hz 4K, 4700 would be enough.Oh okay what if its 60hz
Ooo now I understood soo ill have to increase my budget alright sir thank you soomuchIf you are into gaming, 60 Hz gaming let me say not enjoyable & you will not be using your GPU fully. for 60 Hz 4K, 4700 would be enough.
I have a 9700 K, RTX 3070 and QHD 144 Hz monitor.
Previously my GPU was GTX 1070. Previously my frame rate was limited by the GPU. Now my slowest component is my monitor for many games (not all - for others it became the CPU) . That means if I replace the monitor, I can get more fps in QHD resolution.
Now for your case if you buy a RTX 4080 or 4090, your 4K monitor will be the limiting factor. And again 60 Hz is too low for such a build.
Becoz ill be taking a 32” monitor as i will be using it as my tv too will will that be okay?2k 165hz4080/4090 can run any monitor you want.
Consider carefully your monitor choice. It will be with you for a long time.
If you can, go see your choices in person.
For fast action games, smaller faster monitors are what you want.
OTOH, if you play sims, strategy or mmo type games,
larger/wider/higher resolution is what you want. 120hz is ok there.
