i will be leaving my house for 6 months is turning off the PSU switch fine or are there more stuff that i need to do?

What USAFRet said plus:
That mostly depends on where you live. Six months will take you into December so you might consider a little preventive packaging so it doesn't get damaged by overheating in a hot house or freezing in a cold house. Then consider the likelyhood of encountering rain/hurricane/ etc.

If you use SSD, create a backup of all the information you have stored on it, because lack of energy for prolonged periods of time may make your files unreadable, or corrupted.

They say it takes at least one year for such a thing to happen, but you never know.

You are quite correct in being concerned about and asking about the computer.

Will there still be someone else still living in the house?

If not then take a broader view:

The computer is in the house. What about the house and everything else?

Do you have someone trustworthy to watch over your house and property?

Go inside the house and check things every so often? 6 months is a long time - lots of bad things can happen.
