Ok fellas. I just bought a OPTY 175. From what I read that it's not good ocing chips because it decrease the life of the chip. I want to oc but not hardcore. I have a DFI lanparty UT nf4 ultra-d, 2gb corsair xms 3200/platinum. I also read the what really decrease the life of the chip is by rasing the Voltage? Or is the something else like rasing the bus speed? or is it a combo? So, if increasing the voltage which really hurts the life of the chip, what is the alternative way of increasing speed?

If the chip is a good overclocker like my Venice, then you should be able to do a fairly nice overclock without touching the voltages. This way you wont really hurt the chip much at all.

True, you should be able to overclock 15%, maybe twenty with voltage at 1.4

Is 1.4 voltage the stock voltage on the opty 175? So if I OC the cpu what else would I need to OC as well? MOBO, memory?
Did you OC your opty 175 rich? IF not are you going to?
