In my country the i3 2120 is 300mhz more in clock speed and just $2 dollars more. That's the only difference.
Is it worth the extra 2 dollars?

@urban legend - WEI is one of the most stupidest benchmarks i've ever seen!! Only idiots judge a processor by its WEI score ...peace:)

@ModernKamik - I'd gladly pay upto $10 more for it if i were u 😀 go grab that 2120 😀😀

I agree but some are OCD about things like that, wouldn't you say.?

hmm...yea possibly, but i stopped giving a *** about WEI way back in 2008 :)
I for myself will feel very uncomfortable with a 2.9GHz processor, crossing that imaginary 3Ghz mark will help me sleep in peace....that's why i got the E8400 over the E8300 :)

if your a numbers freak then sorry to disappoint but in windows 7 WEI scores they are both the same: 7.1
:/

but of course the 2120 is .2GHz faster and only $5 more in some places.
you might get lucky and be able to raise the BLK in the BIOS just a tad and get it a bit faster.

I am not going to overclock anything.
Is it worth the said 5% for gaming?

Since both processors are multiplier locked the i3-2120 would probably be a better deal.

The only way to overclock the i3 processors is by raising the base clock of the motherboard.

For multiplier locked processors always better to the processor with the highest standard clock frequency.
