Hi

I am in a decision making problem. I do not know whether or not to buy the GTX 760 or the r9 270x 4gb. My PC specs listed below:

i3 2120 @3.3GHz w/Hyperthreading
4gb ddr3 ram @800MHz (Upgrading real soon)
Cooler Master CM-690 II case
XFX pro core edition 550w (More than enough juice)
the rest aint really relevant.

I know the GTX 760 is much faster than the r9 270x however, will there be a bottleneck with my i3 2120 + GTX 760 that will reduce the performance of my games? Or will the bottlenecking be fine? I have been all over the web and back reading about this combination & many say there wont be a significant bottleneck on high settings but on ultra there will be. I only plan to game on high settings.

r9 270x: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-161-PC&tool=3 Comes with 4 games and is more in my price range. Or this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-325-SP&tool=3

GTX 760: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-206-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1830

I guess the main question would be here; Would there be a significant bottleneck with the GTX 760 & the i3 2120, or would I be better off with th r9 270x bearing in mind I only plan to game on high settings.

Thanks.

I would say difference between 760 and 270x isn't much (about 7%) so that bottleneck will be about even. A 270x/760 is an overkill is only want to play games on high. 4 gb more of ram will come handy at a cheap price. And lastly your processor doesn't have hyperthreading, that strictly for i7 processor. I would take 760 if you can afford it. You may also want consider cheaper cards like 750ti and 260x since you will not be pushing ultra detail and AA settings.
