not much of an upgrade. Both are same core/thread, with 2 cores 4 threads. The i5 has a higher CPU clock and can turbo up to 3.5 ghz, so for a lot of apps and light gaming it will make a difference, but how that translates in gaming FPS, or benchmarks will differ from one to the next. What GPU is in the laptop? How much does the CPU cost? IMO opinion it's not worth the hassle for a laptop, and for what could be a little performance increase.
