To play (GTA 5, The Witcher, etc ... and some heavy work, photoshop), which one will be the best option to buy: i3 4130 for 50 euros, or i3 4160 about 50% more expensive? I know they are weak, but what is the best option? I wanted to play around 40 frames, with a GTX 960. Later I would upgrade the processor. From what I've seen there is still some difference in performance between the two and perhaps i should buy the 4160. What is your opinion?
Thanks

The 4130 is 3.4Ghz, the 4160 is 3.6Ghz, otherwise they're identical. Going for the 4160 you'd be paying 50% more for maybe 7% extra performance... no way that's worthwhile.

For both Gaming & Processing performance you can't differentiate them. They both show identical performance in Real time.

It's always best to start your own thread rather than posting in one that's been answered more than a year ago.

The short answer is, "sometimes". It will depend on the game, resolution and detail settings. The i3 will hold up much better, for example, for a 4K @ 60hz monitor than it would if you were targeting 1080P @ 144hz. Some games only really use two cores, making the i3 a perfect fit, while others really need a quad core for higher settings and frame rates. If you want a more detailed answer, start a new thread and make sure you provide your full system specs, monitor resolution and refresh rate, and the particular games you're thinking about playing.
