hi everyone i have a fx 6300 cpu overclocked but i would like to upgrade to i3 4150 because of better upgrade path and better temps and i do mostly indie games and a little bit of bf4 mutiplayer and i do rendering but with my gpu in adobe premire pro so what do you guys think

Its a bad idea at the moment I would think. I see you have a CPU badge there so you know this stuff a bit. Of course the i3 has its advantages but it just seems like too small of a performance difference to justify the cost at the moment. I would think you would be better off at least waiting till Broadwell is launched and trying to save up for an i5. You could perhaps purchase the motherboard ahead of time whenever you see a great deal, but I would hold off on the CPU for now.

ok what would be a good upgrade for me now like more or bigger hdd or ssd and i have a fx 6300 oc to 4.5ghz i a bit of editing with adobe premire and just wondering i need to upgrade anything

specs Fx 6300 @4.5ghz
8gb ddr3 ram 1600mhz
hd 7870
cooler nh-d14
808gb hdd
60gb ssd

Well a larger SSD certainly can't hurt. Your RAM is solid, not need anything different there. Your CPU isn't bad, you could try playing with FSB and RAM overclocks cause that helps rendering times.

Outside of small tweaks the SSD is the most deserving of being upgraded really.

well i kinda cant oc my ram becasue it makes my board not post

I highly doubt it but you can check. Just see how much RAM usage is in task manager during rendering. If it is touching 95% or more, then it might but I doubt it will. I do 24/7 RAM monitoring with games, massive compression jobs, and other things and never really see it go past 7GB, it hardly passes 6GB. ANd I have 16GB installed.

Better temps? I've that CPU (I3-4150) and it gets over 81º celsius when playing FC4. I remember reaching a maximum of approximately 90º.
I suggest you save the money for the new generation computing rather than wasting cash compulsively, which is pretty common these days. I took a jump from shitty's Intel Atom netbook as a University gift more than half a decade ago.

Yes the Haswell are really hot but mine is pretty trapped anyway. I use the stock cooler in a Mini-ITX case with the PSU blocking the airways right above the CPU (2-3 cms from the cooler). Besides that it's summer here in South America. There are a lot of factors which contribute to the CPU failing to dissipate the heat gained due to heavy workloads, in my case many of those are evident.
Regards.

Good god its amazing that thing hasn't burned itself alive. For being summer in South America, having no air, and the heat just building up its not surprising for it to get that hot. If anything its more astounding it is staying that cool.

Though it is true Haswell is a hotter CPU than Ivy Bridge for example. Haswell never made sense to me really on the desktop since it has very minor performance improvements of about 3% overall, while consuming about 8% more power, producing about 7% more heat, and not being able to overclock as well. Broadwell should be a lot more impressive
