Well you have an r8 280 going for 150 $ on newegg. It beats the 760 by 10 fps in all major titles. Also it is going to be a minimum requirement if you want to play good games at good settings at 1080p. Here is the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131570&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= It is quite a bargain with the promo going on. The cheapest gtx 760 is for 184 dollars...
Is that a trick question.
If not I would say that really there is not a huge difference performance. The i5 4460 has 4 cores and turbo boost(3.4Ghz) as well as HD 4600 Graphics opposed to the i3 4160 having 2 cores with HTT (4 logical cores) at 3.6GHz. That is pretty it off the top of my head though there is more in depth reviews out there. IMPO the i3 4160 is a better value with a MSRP around $115. The i5 4440 and his siblings 44xx SKUs are kind of the odd one out at their prices.

if my understanding is correct i should go with i3 4160 to save about $50-$60 for an additional 5-10 FPS with i5 4460? i have read that the upcoming games would be a more cpu intensive game .. should i plan ahead and go with 4460 for "future-proof" or ill just stay with 4160 and wait til i7 procies become less

why h81 or h87? why not b81/85/87? my original plan was to get h97 board but why should i buy that expensive board wherein i can get a much cheaper board (b85) as i dont have any plans OCing in the near future

There is no b81 or b87 mobo. Go for an h81 if you want the cheapest. b85 has some extra business features added to h81. So it will cost a bit more. h87 costs higher and has many more features and is designed for mainstream non OC customers

You might wwant to look at the AC Unity system requirements before making the decision. The minimum requirement is an i5 2500k which is pretty high and the minimum gpu requirement is a GTX 680. http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=17084&game=Assassins%20Creed:%20Unity
This might be a premonition for the games about to come. So you are definitely better off with an i5. Though I suggest you get a 4590 or a 4690 with an h97 mobo so that in future you can upgrade to a broadwell i7. And the speed increase an i5 offers over an i3 is very noticeable.

on that note i was already planning to change my setup to this

procie: i5 4460 3.2-3.4Ghz
gpu: Zotac 760 Amp! 2Gb DDR5
mobo: Asus B85-Pro Gamer(still the same)

kinda like this mobo coz of its look plus it has some nice features in it .. so how about this akhil? any good?

The cheapest gtx 760 is for 184 dollars which is 30 dollars more which, supposing you buy the graphic card at 150 $ with the promo discount will give you money for a better processor and maybe a better mobo.
Look at this build:
http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=96201&vpn=BX80646I54690&manufacture=Intel&promoid=1151 The i5 4690
The graphic card posted above.
And a decent mobo like yours, though I seriously suggest a same costing h97 motherboard because it is compatible with next gen processors and so in future you can put in a broadwell i7. Here is one : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KBM2N70/?tag=pcpapi-20

back here on my place 280 is $282 while 760 is $265 .. my best choice here is 270x toxic $245 or 760 amp! $265
an i3 4160 $119, i5 4460 $189, i5 4590 $203 and i5 4690 $225 .. my best choice would be i3 4160 or i5 4460
as for mobo ill get the same .. ill just upgrade it to a z97 after i bought an i5 K and a 290/970 Gpu

any thoughts?

Then go for 760 amp and 4460.

My i3 can play BF4 multiplayer just fine if i turn the settings down all the way, which you should anyway, if you're playing multiplayer on max settings you're subjecting yourself to unnecessary lag and should stop doing multiplayer. Multiplayer is for being competitive, if you want to stop and look at the pretty flowers go back to single player, don't gimp yourself at the expense of your team.

already made up my mind gonna get: PS prices is on the shop i canvassed with 1 dollar - 44 ph peso

i5 4590 - $202
asus b85m-g - $80
sapphire 270x toxic - $215
g skill ripjaws 4gbx2 1600 cl9 - $95
WD 1TB - $63
seasonic s12II - $72
n600 - $88

total of: $815

PS: next upgrade SSD, Gpu and mobo

Oye, you will need to upgrade bios before you can use a b85 chipset mobo with a haswell refresh cpu. So you will need to put in another cpu update the bios and only then will you be able to use it. Unless it has bios flashback by which you can flash bios by pressing a button. That is the very reason I suggested h97.

yes thanks for the concern and im well aware of that issue that only intel 9 series mobo's can use haswell refresh cpus without bios update .. and before i decided, i asked the shop where i will be buying all these parts and they said that they will be the ones who will update the mobo for me.. plus i wont assemble this rig myself as im not knowledgable in terms of assembling a rig

you're stepping way out of the line brother .. why should i risk assembling my rig if i can ask the shop to assemble it for me? this is my FIRST TIME assembling a rig so its my decision whether or not i assemble it myself .. sorry that im not that knowledgable in terms of assembling a rig like you oh almighty one

thanks for dropping by .. by the way dont let the door slam you on your way out

Because it's incredibly easy to do, and the only thing preventing you from doing it yourself is you not wanting to spend a few hours reading some articles and watching a video or two.

All you have to do is read how to where to plug things in, look at the thing you're trying to plug in, and compare it with the instructions and diagrams in the manuals.

If you can't read and you don't have eyes or hands, you can't build a computer. Like how you can't ride a bike if you don't have legs. But you do have all the required body parts, so there's nothing preventing you from building a computer yourself besides your own unwillingness to learn how.

Well, I can only say if you are satisfied with my answers please pick best solution and close the thread.
