[SOLVED] I3 9100f Bottlenecking

Can anyone please suggest what should I do I have just built my rig and I am using an i3 9100f paired with a zotac GTX 1660 and 8gb ram but whatever game I play my cpu load is 100% mostly and GPU usually sits at 70 to 80 is this ma major CPU bottleneck or should I upgrade to i5 9400f CPU ?

Depends on your goal. FPS or graphics detail.

If your GPU has some idle time, that means you can increase resolution or settings and not see large drop in frame rates. If you are after maximum frame rates, yes, you need as much CPU as you can afford.

The thing is I play on my led TV so I only need 60fps but constant 60 at ultra so I was wondering would a processor change to i59400f make a considerable difference from i3 9100f with the same 1660 GPU?

Depending on the game an i5 will help quite a lot. 4 core i3’s are entry level these days for gaming with many game able to use 6 or more. You may still suffer some stuttering in some games as 16gb is now preferable.

It’s a shame you went the Intel route, at this price point AMD Ryzen is a better option. It is not worth changing now.

So should I stick with my i3 or upgrade to an i5 9400f? Or maybe upgrade my ram to 16gb
