i3 variants VS i5 Variants

I want a laptop that would be used for downloading movies & documentary videos and watching them, Surfing websites & of course socializing a bit.
my system would used for say evening 10 to morning 8.
SUGGEST ME which one should i go for.U can suggest me laptop model also
