Hello I recently built a PC and everything is working fine but my CPU is reporting as being 90 to 100 degrees when gaming. I am using MSI afterburner to record this. But when idle it reports it running at 50 - 60 degrees which as far as I can tell is the standard. I am using the stock cooler and gathered that around 80 degrees is the temps i should be recieving when gaming so not sure why it's so high. The cooler is installed correctly and thermal paste isn't a issue either. Should I just get a new cooler?

Stock coolers have always been mediocre, even with case airflow fans, which btw i hope you have that at least.

Yeah if your case can support tower coolers look at Deepcool ak620. You'll have to clean cpu surface with isopropyl and lint free cloth before applying paste.

Stock coolers come with pre applied paste pad so you'll have to spread yourself, cooler will come with a tube. Either pea size blob in middle and let heatsink spread it or use glad wrap on your finger to spread if you're not confident putting heatsink on straight. Im not lol so i spread it with finger.

I do have a case fan although it is just the one. The deepcool ak620 is a bit out of the budget for me at the moment could you recomend anything around the £30 mark?
