I5 2500k hyper 212 evo vs coolermaster v8

Solution

A Custom watercooling solution, which contains many parts.

For a 4.5ghz the Hyper 212 EVO will work perfectly fine! The 212 EVO on my 4.5ghz 2500K system hits roughly 67C on full load!
I'd say that the Hyper 212 and the V8 are fine choices for any decent OC, but if you have the money, the H100 from Corsair is the best you can get.

Liquid cooling solutions are a little more user-dependant though, but should not be that much of a deal.

Now, in particular to your question, I like the V8 more than the 212, but the 212 edges it out but a little. So, the cheaper one should be the good call 😛

Here's a pretty good review for he H80, the second best from Corsair and it lists the V8 and 212 in the big chart they use:

Cheers!

I used to have the Hyper 212+ and the Thermaltake v3, and I can say with personal experience that the 212+ dose fit in the v3. You will have about 1/4" or maybe a little less between the tips of the heat pipes and the side panel, but the side dose go on just fine. 😀

Good Luck!

Good choice the H-100 is a waste of money and not real water cooling anyways it preforms on par with it's fans on highest settings with heat sinks such as Silver Arrow and NH-D14 which are quieter and cheaper the hyper 212 evo will be fine for mild overclocking 😉

Here is a video showing how to mount a H100 watercooling module onto a LGA2011 CPU:

The installation methods vary marginally, and both coolermaster and corsair have very slick and clean, also simple graphical instructions on how to mount their product. In my opinion, the only thing you need to pay attention is to get the right mounting bracket, the 1155 one, in your case.
Have fun upgrading your PC. ^_^

What cooler do you use or do you water cool your whole system i will be over clocking to like 4.5-4.8 ghz??

Solution
4.5ghz the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo will be fine i am not so sure about 4.8ghz i seriously doubt the Evo would preform well assuming your cpu will be able to hit that high you need NH-D14 or Silver Arrow if you want to do that on air 24-7 i have two different rigs on my main one i use a rasa water cooling kit on my other rig i use NH-D14 hope this answers your question. :)

Cooler Master BESTED themselves with the Hyper 212 EVO! It IS in fact MUCH better than their own much Vaunted V8 cooler in EVERY WAY!
IF you have a decent mobo (ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 here!) it is QUITE possible to hit that 5 GHz with an i7-2600K (my ROCK stable OC, I use dual Corsair SP-120 fans on mine) - 24 hours of Prime 95 and no one core gets hotter than 87 degrees, and the package temp never exceeds 84! This is WELL within the margin of safety, as thermal throttling (TMAX) occurs at 95 degrees on an Intel SandyBridge K model processor stock (unless you tweak it higher, which I would NOT recommend!) - even using a higher Bclock - which increases memory and PCIe speeds too!

For a 95 watt TDP or lower CPU the Hyper 212 EVO is ALL you should EVER need! OFC I have a corsair Carbonite 200R decked out in AF-140s, as well as SP and AF 120s! - EVERY fan slot is occupied and pretty much at max speed, still SILENT IMHO!
