i5 3340 vs i3 4150

Going to CpuBoss website, I still can't figure out which is the best for gaming purposes. My guess that the i5 will come out on top since it's a Quad Core versus Dual Core on the i3, the question remains that how much of a performance impact would the number of cores do ?
Any ideas are very welcome !

well for gaming the i5 3340 will be better.

Do you already own one of these processors? And what GPU do you have?

1st. Don't use CPUboss. Please use cpu.userbenchmark.com for the most realistic results.

2nd. Even a i3 6320 is slower then a i5-2400. I3's wont be good in any task compared to a i5 unless if you're talking single threaded performance. In that case the i3 scores ahead but its not enough to choose over.

Once Inter realizes 4 cores is the norm, i3's will be quad core, and i5's will be (Maybe) 6 core. An i3 from Intel is like Nvidia's gtx XX60 series, There bad performers for the money as AMD's offerings are better in both performance and cost.

Cores above 4 are unnecessary as of now. A I3 is good for less demanding games and GPU bound titles. I believe there just an "upgrade" for the Pentium series. A i3 6320 kicks the hell out of a G4400. But the i5 6600k kicks the hell out of a i3 6320. the I7 6700k doesn't really kick the hell out of the i5 6600k because of price to performance, and the fact that the i7 is only for those who want more cache or just want to brag.
