janostak - with all due respect to most of the good people, but they are acting like boars in this case, and they're leaving their graphics card core to 60°C because "it can take it", and are following paper specifications. No, keeping it under 90°C is not good at all. It's good if You plan on running it for 1-2 years tops, and have a lot of luck by Your side. Every semiconductor and/or transistor in cpu/gpu is "good" with >50°C, CPUs are fine under 60°C "in general" and if it must be, keeping them under 70°C is recommended [of course, many will survive even 80-90°C for longer time]. Everything above is playing with the longetivity and lifespan of the processor -
not by the book of course! - though, to my current experience, keeping stuff as I thought it should be kept is making my builds "immortal", whilst others wrestle and suffer from early loss way too soon - that's why I have so much work
which is good...
And I meant the thermal interface material, that's between processor itself, and integrated heat spreader, not the one between integrated heat spreader and coolers upstanding area. You can't change it, it's there from the factory.
Well, You can theoretically change it, if You delid it, but don't do that, not in Your current situation.
