My PC is:
i5 3570 ( non-K)
16GB DDR3
Main: Gigabyte B75M-D3V

I'm learning to made animation from 3d model and rendering video.

I read many posts on internet. It say that " if you want gaming, take i5-3570. If you want editting, rendering video, take i7-3770.". However. Is it really worth to uprade from i5-3570 to i7-3770 ( not Overclock)? How much i7-3770 really better than i5-3570 in rendering video?

------------------

By the way. If I want to Overclock my CPU ( i7-3770k), is it safe to use main B75? Or I have to replace my mainboard to Z77,too?

Thank you for help.

Solution
A 3770 would benefit you. Also look and see if your board is compatible with any of the Xeon E3 CPU's as well. E3 1230v2, and higher, are i7 equivalents. The ones that end in 0 lack IGP, and the ones with a 5, have it.

If you were going as far as replacing motherboard too, you would be better off going with a more modern platform. Even a 1st gen ryzen 5 1600 would be quite the improvement. Fortunately you can get DDR4 reasonably cheap, these days.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor ($118.90 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI - B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ($114.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($69.99...
I would say definitely worth it. Rendering and video editing both take advantage of multiple cores, and as said above, the multi-core performance is 30% better. You might not see a 30% increase, but you will see and definitely appreciate what you do get.

thank you very much.

if I want to Overclock the i7-3770k, I will have to replace even my mainboard to Z77. So, exclude Ram and HDD, I almost replace everything.

That is why I wonder should I buy i7-3770k, or upgrade it to i7-4XXX;6XXX;...
