i5 3570 vs i5 3570k; which is better for gaming??

Hi everyone, I intend to build a high end gaming rig and i will game a lot and also I will do sound mixing (DJ). I've finished deciding on all the parts needed, however I'm extremely confused on the processor, either i should buy a i5 3570 or a i5 3570k. I know the differences and i do NOT want to do overclocking cause I think it is really risky. But I read that 3570k is better on stock clock speeds. Now the price difference here in India is 2700 rupees which is $51(when u convert it). So in the end, which is the best way to go and also, is it better to wait for the Haswell processors??

asrock-h77-pro4-mvp-motherboard
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB (4GBx2)
Zotac GTX 680
Corsair 650w PSU
WD Blue 1TB

PS: How is the setup?? Any problems with it??

You will see virtually no difference in any of those processors if you are not overclocking. You don't need the overclocking ability of the Z77 series and the HD 7970 is better than a GTX 670, and the slight increase in performance from the GTX 680 isn't worth the extra cost.

3570K is made for overclocking. I have the Hyper 212 plus heat-sink and mine never goes above 70 degrees on full load overclocked to 4.2 ghz at stock voltage. Why wound't you want a processor that's faster and up-gradable for the future?

I'd say it can be dangerous if you start messing with the voltage or don't have a better than stock heat-sink. You can look at intel's stock heat-sink and the hyper 212 and immediately tell the latter will cool better.

It can also be dangerous if you get into water cooling. That's if you want to push your cpu to into the 4.5 and above range. A line breaks and spills coolant over your motherboard and probably graphics card and they're done. They make some pretty good heat sinks out there that will go beyond the 4.2ghz range. Right now 4.2 is fast enough for me.

These are budget z77 motherboards but they should be enough for your needs. Both are good enough for you but now its your choice. The asrock is only 500 more so no budget problems there. I would personally recommend the ASROCK out of these two but if you ask we my recommendation, i would say the Gigabyte GA-Z77-UD3H which costs about 5000 more. So go for the asrock which cost Rs 8500.

@muttley89, thank you so much i've decided actually to get the 3570k cause it may helpful in the future to OC (by that time i should know how to OC Properly!!) and I realized that I dont have to spend more on the mobo cause the difference between the h77 pro4 and the z77 pro4 is barely RS:2000 so I think it is a good IDEA to get a 3570k and a z77 pro4. most likely intel have beefed up a few bits to cope with user error while changing the unlocked multiplier, a stock clocked K lasting longer than its counterpart under stressful conditions but stock speeds, hate to be the one to test that.

Problem is with either processor if you choose cheap cooling you may never even see the true speeds of either especially not when dirt or TIM thermal interference material (lol) builds up on tha cheap heatsink and fan your going to be lucky if your cpu does not get cut to nothing to compensate for the excess heat that is a big problem in both these cpu's (cheap tim and excessive silicone adhesive used, why we delid) even if you delid that cpu , your still going to see high temps, get cheaper cpu and better cpu cooler, other than that if you can stretch or wait, get great cooling delid the cpu and get the K cpu and google/ebay ic7 diamond to use while assembling, enjoy. ps either way get good cooling, deepcool make super silent rubber case fans, stock cpu coolers are not good for gaming.
