i5 3570K @4.4ghz still viable?

Hi, I am just wondering if I was to upgrade my graphics card to say a gtx1070 or 1080 is my Cpu capable of playing the latest games on max settings?
Currently playing at 1080p 60fps. My current card is doing ok at the moment but feels like it's on it last legs with latest games

Maybe in the future I might go 1440p

You're still pretty good on your CPU, it might be hurt on some really CPU intensive games, but not by much. You shouldn't have to upgrade for another year or two.

1080 is your best option, it's overkill for 1080p 60fps but it will be a very good option for pretty much everything for now and for far in the future.

Max settings will not be possible on some AAA games with that cpu and ram. You'll be fine at medium or high though.
