hello there
I have the same CPU and an GTX 780 TI Overclocked ! Running Guild Wars 2 on 5907 X 1080 across 3 monitors and when there is lot of people in game, i get around 20 FPS BEFORE the yesterday patch that merge every server to mega server and 45/50 Locked at 60 when on open zone.
Before that, i was oversampling and every graphics settings at max, now im normal sampling, reduced the character limit to medium and i have 10/20 FPS in town on mega server with :S.
Telling you this cause i run riva tuner on overlay and each of my cores are always on my top left monitor, and 4 cores all at 100% usage and temps at 56/60 celcius, wich is normal temp, and GPU at 55 % on 5709 X 1080.
So, its hard to REALLY tell when its bottlenecking and when its just the game that is CPU intensive. In GW2, after LOTS of research., and some confirmation from arena Net devs on this that its a game optimized for HT and are very CPU intensive instead of GPU optimized for some weird reasons....
Saying all this simply cause i run Age of Wushu at max wich has approximately the same graphics scale across 3 screen, and when theres lot of people, i get to 50 FPS hardware Acceleration set to on with 85 % GPU use instead of 46% of GW2, and only 2 cores of my CPU goes to 100% .....
Here i would say, my CPU could be better of course, but its not bottlenecking BECAUSE the video card ! Its the game code optimization unfortunately, in some case, (dont get me wrong).
Best exemple, Running Tomb Raider, Farcry 3 or Assasin Creed black Flag on 5906 X 1080 accross the same 3 monitors, my GPU reach 99,9 % and the dynamic overclock clock it at max speed, my fans adjust, so i can hear that my GPU is FINALLY working at max at that high resolution, while the CPU is standing between 50 and 65 % on all cores with around 40 to 55 FPS Vsync ON 😉
(those games will requires me to have another 780 TI in SLI, since i also want an 3d Surround)
So my answer is : some game will of course bottleneck, but overall, with a true gaming setup, it really depends on the coding of the game itself, some will bottleneck, so youll need to lower some graphic settings, while some will just blow your eyes with true GPU power and let the CPU breath ! Its my obsevation so far
At 3 screen monitor, its the amount of DDR Memory that will bottleneck an 780 TI on heavy MSAA antialias but thats another story XD hahaha
