i5 3570k with 980 ti?

Hey Guys,

I just ordered a EVGA gtx 980ti SC+ and I just wanted to know if i am going to run into any issues with the i5-3570k @3.4ghz and the 980 ti. I am looking to upgrade my motherboard soon, but in the mean would love if this could handle it

I dont think you shoud upgrade any time soon.
as far as gaming is concerned EVGA gtx 980ti SC+ and the i5-3570k @3.4ghz seems like a perfect match for me.

Yep thats fine, you won't have any problems. But I would have bought at least a Intel i5-4690K with a 980 Ti (I already have one in my current system) to maximize performance.

Yes, you will experice bottlenecks in CPU intensive games @1080p and @1440p. I have a 980ti overclocked to 1506 MHz and 3570k @ 4.5 GHz and experiance serious bottlenecking in BF4 at 1080p 144Hz. GPU usage at like 80% max with only 120 FPS keep in mind I want more than 144FPS (and this is on a single card). The higher the res, the lower the bottleneck running BF4 at 4K using DSR puts the card at 99%. Lowering graphics settings only increases CPU bottleneck.

Hey thanks for your reply, so i have the card now and its running fine so far I think, most games have been running perfectly. Only issues that I am running into are with with BF4 (Like you said), It was running absolutely fine at first but over the last couple of days, Ive had instances where the fps dropped to like 5-6fps. But the issue that I have been running into the most lately is the DirectX error that i keep getting after 5-10 mins of play. Could this be gpu error or cpu? It doesnt happen with any other game

I have same setup, I haven't tried BF4 yet (too big to download just to try video card) but GTA V and Sleeping Dogs both run fine and seem pretty CPU intense. I do suspect some bottlenecking but overall my system is stable with no WHEA errors.

I did have some video card driver crashes due to my card exceeding power limit (increased Power Limit to 110 via MSI Afterburner to fix) but don't see any FPS dips like that. Have you tried using FurMark or some other GPU benchmark to see if same happens?

iv got a an i5 3570k at 4.5ghz with Sli 980tis both have diff memory speeds and clocks.. so far i can tell you that you will be able to max intesnive games like witcher 3 at ultra settings with hairworks on at 1440p with solid 60fps..at least i do anywaz..if i use a reshader however then i will get dips to 57 but for the most part its 59 and some games i am able to play at 4k with 60fps solid.. witcher 3 is around 40-50s but i get stuttery fps..i dunno if that is due to my cpu being a bottle neck though..but other games like mass effect 3 and bioshock infinite..run flawlsy at 4k. so i think it depends on the game you play. but for the most part it will be an enjoyable experince ..and if your just gaming at 1080p your good to go.
