Hey, i have a amd fx6100, and 1 r9 280x, i am planing on buying another r9 280x in the future. so i wondered, will i upgrade form my 6100 to a 4460 bottleneck the two cards?

I also wondered if a could match Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600Mhz 8GB KIT With Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600Mhz 8GB KIT will it work?

Another question, can i go for a amd cpu, in that case, wich on do you recomend, i am on a tight budget. about 400 dollars

Solution
So $400 for just motherboard and CPU? or is this with the RAM upgrade too? I'll make a suggestion if you can tell me which part you'll need for $400.
The I5 is defently gonna beat the FX6100 in gaming, shouldn't be a problem there with bottlenecking though maybe in physics-heavy or AI-heavy games (etc. Starcraft II, Diablo III, BeamNG).

If you're buying the same kit, there shouldn't be a problem at all installing the extra ram, just make sure that each kit is paired correctly in the RAM slots (each kit in each different colored DIMM slot).

EDIT:
One thing i just totally forgot to write.
Do you really think you need 16GB of RAM? You'll never exeed 8GB in games. I would say that going for a CPU $70-80 more expensive than the 4460 would...

Solution
AMD's tend to bottleneck in games than i5 or i7. Anyway you shouldn't worry to much about that and upgrading to 4460 isn't really worth it, just go for the second 280x. You sure you have strong enough PSU?

Regarding RAM, i suggest you to buy exact same type of ram, and 8GB is more than enough for that CPU.

For a small price to pay extra firstly id suggest a core i5, more spesifically the 4690k for its overclockability, and id suggest gskill ripjaws 8gb ram... its waaaaaay better and you dont really need more than 8gb for games.. but if you are gonna do alot of multitasking get 16gb of gskill Ripjaws.. its alot better bang for the buck

Well, despite all the answers and i respect the guys, i don't even recommend going for Crossfire with anothe 280X because the difference will be so small. Many games don't support Crossfire so i don't think is it worth the money. You better get another more powerful graphics card instead of going with 2x 280X.... my oppinion
