Dear Community,

I have been taking something in consideration lately but I don't know if it would have any impact when it comes to gaming perfomance, would it be worth upgrading from a i5-4460 3,2GHz to a i5-4690K 3,5GHz?

My current specs as of now are:
CPU= i5-4460 3,2GHz
GPU= MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB
MoBo= MSI B85m-p33 V3
RAM= 16GB DDR3 Fury
PSU= 550W

Thanks for your time :)

Solution
Slight increase in performance, but doubt if noticeable in gaming.

But if you are seriously considering going for the i5-4690K, you'll not be able to overclock that with the B85 motherboard you have. A more logical choice would be to get the i5-4690 (non-K). Both i5-4690K and i5-4690 have the same clock speeds at 3.5GHz to 3.9GHz, non-OC'd (with the K version having slightly higher TDP at 88W against 84W) -- same performance at a much lesser price.

As stated above, the CPU won't give you that much extra value for the money you're gonna spend. You're better of waiting and later on looking for a new platform like Kaby Lake or AMD's Ryzen. I currently run the same CPU (i5 4460) and am going to an I5 7500 because I got a great deal on it. But your CPU certainly is enough for casual 1080p gaming.
