Hi everyone!
I was saving some money to build a gaming pc and i have about 130€ more than i need, so i faced a dilemma spent them to upgrade from an i5 4590 to an i7 4790 (both non k) or get a corsair h100i for the i5?(if i go with the i7 i will not buy an aftermarket cpu cooler for at least 4 months)
Please Help!!!

Thank you in advance.

If your choice is between the i5 with cooler and i7, definitely go with the i7. Better still, if you can swing the extra $30 or whatever it is where you are between the 4790 and the k version, try to invest in the k version. It's a small price premium over the non-k, but you'll get a 10% increase in stock / turbo clocks and you would have the option of overclocking later, should you choose to...
I would get the i7, you most certainly dont need water cooling on a cpu that's not even overclocked and cant be overclocked, the stock cooler should do good enough. For games the performance between the two will be similar but if you can get the more powerful i7 i would, it should perform better in future games.

Get an i7-4790k, you can overclock if you ever decide to in the future, and its not that much more, about 27€ more.
AND, it has a stock rate of 4.0 GHz, instead of 3.6

I would definately buy a K version combined with a decent OC'able MB. Especially since the price difference (K vs non-K) is very small (only a couple of € over here). Also i wouldn't use the stock cooler (can't stand torching my cpu), no fan of CL AIO eigther though. Astek branded CL AIO have weak pumps and alu rads with high fin density and require high speed fans. In short, they are noisy. H100i being a good example of that.

Advise: buy a K version i5 with budget aftermarket air cooler like hyper 212 evo and save the extra money or upgrade MB, GPU or SSD.

Share other components if you want more of my/our opinions.
