I5 4670k no overlock temps

The cpu is usually around 30-35c when idle is that normal or it should be less around 27c and around that? when gaming it goes to 41c or less but not more I also ran a stress test using intel tunning utility for 5min and the temps never got higher than 56c, I really wanna make sure everything is alright and if thermal paste is applied correctly or not.
I also want to use the OC genie MSI overclock feature but afraid it might lower the life of the cpu.

My temps idle are around 35 as well. But i have an aftermarket cooler, and i'm overclocked. Under load it peaks at about 78C.
If you are overclocking i'd say around 4Ghz should be a safe amount that wouldn't affect the life cycle of your CPU at all, as long as you don't have to change the voltage much. Just keep in mind, voltage = heat. heat = lower CPU life. having a really high voltage can also affect CPU life as well.

56c under load is fine with stock heatsink. If overclocking you should always invest in an aftermarket cooler. A coolermaster hyper 212 isn't that expensive.

I've been wondering the same thing about stock idle and load temps. I have an Asus Z87-A and a 4670k at stock speed with a hyper 212 evo, my temps are around 28-30 idle and I've never seen it go above 51'C when gaming (BF3 64 Player conquest). My case is a Fractal R4 with all moduvents left in place and 3 140mm Fractal R2 fans. Everything seems to be running ok though.

I have a zalman cpns9500AT Im not using the stock heatsink so I guess I have a problem with thermal paste correct?

You definitely have that with a 56C load temp
