i5-4690 WITHOuT PASTE

today i got my first pc
the cpu is i5-4690 with cooler but WITHOUT paste.
is it true that it has the pate itself?
i just ran the pc and it worked fine i installed windows 7/mobodiver/gpu driver/steam/mouse diver.
than i looked up on the internet and some people said it will burn down.
the temperature was fine cos i didnt noticed anything strange for like 2 hrs.
i didnt start any games, and im going to buy some paste.
my question is, is it possible that the cpu is somehow damaged?

Most stock coolers will have thermal paste pre applied to it most after market coolers will not and they will include a tube you never wanna run your pc with not thermal paste on your cpu for prolonged time periods.
