At the moment I have the fx 6300 and the GTX 760. ARMA is a very cpu dependent game so AMD struggles since the engine doesn't utilize that many cores. Big cities I get 20 fps. In forests.. Maybe 30. Would the i5 be much better? Most gameplay it seems a lot better. Also, if you have the i5 4690k and play dayZ mod.. Let me know what your FPS is in big cities( Cherno, Elektro)

Thanks!

a Pentium would not compete in games with an i5..

G3258 when overclocked CAN compete with a i5.
Not many games can utilize more than 2 cores.
Here is a study where they used a i5 and disabled 1/2/3 cores.
You will see that the 3rd and 4th core did not help fps in most games.

Here is another more specific to the G3258 and crysis3.
Here, it competes with both i5 and i7 when overclocked.

Not bad for a $70 cpu compared to $220-$320 chips.

There will be some games that are not so good, but if one is on a budget, you can't have everything.

What I really like for a starter/budget build is that you can throw the cpu away and still have an easy upgrade to a i3, i5, i7.

That is interesting that the $70 cpu can compete with it.. But I'm going with the 4690k. More future proof

I'm not trying to make a starter/budget build.. I was just wondering anyone had the 4690k and got good frames
