i5 4690k good investment for upcoming games?

i am planning to build a new pc using the i5 4690k but i am going to get all parts except for the GPU for now (want to save money for a good gpu to go with 4690k) as i have an amd hd radeon 7770 1gb oc ghz edition , so i am wondering if using the 4690k will be too powefull for the 7770 until i get the new gpu or just wait and get the cpu and the new gpu the same time. my current cpu is amd athlon 64 x2 5400+ 2,8 ghz

cpu prices don't change much so if you can get it on sale grab it. If its not on sale you don't lose anything by waiting for one.
And just to be sure, you do realize the Athlon 64 motherbd cant run the 4690k right? you need an intel motherbd with an 1150 socket for that cpu.

yes, as i said, i will get all the new parts(including motherboard compatible with 4690k) except for the gpu. but i am wondering if will be a bottleneck between the hd 7770 and the i5 , to be more clear, building the new pc from scratch but using the 7770 until i`ll save some cash for a better gpu
